Mug cakes are honestly one of my favourite ways to have a sweet treat. Ready in 5 minutes and so delicious they are the perfect way to make a quick snack. Aside from being amazingly easy, this mug cake is rich, chocolatey and tastes just like a chocolate brownie!
I love the fact that this brownie batter mug cake is so versatile. You can add vegan ice cream, chocolate chips or even soy whipped cream! I have to say that ice cream is definitely my favourite. However, if you want a healthier alternative to ice cream you can always eat it plain, it honestly tastes amazing on its own. Or you can add some healthy banana nice cream.
This mug cake tastes amazing if you add some chocolate ice cream to the top. Due to the fact that the cake will be hot, the ice cream melts slightly and tastes amazing swirled in!
Unlike some of the other mug cake recipes you may find, this recipe uses mashed banana to help create a cake like texture. Bananas are a great alternative to using egg, and you therefore don’t have to worried about eating egg that hasn’t been cooked in the oven!
Along with banana this cake also used nut butter. You can use whatever nut butter you like however I love peanut butter. What is so great about this mug cake is that you cannot taste the nut butter in it, so if you don’t really like peanut butter you don’t have to worry. All you can taste is delicious chocolaty brownie.
