These healthy chocolate krispy bites are so simple and easy – they only require a few ingredients but taste delicious!
When you were little did you ever melt chocolate and add Rice Krispies to make crispy cakes? I use to love them! These are such a perfect healthy alternative so you can snack away all day!
I love having these krispy bites in my house as they make such a great snack. They only take 10 minutes to make, and require no fancy ingredients! The use of cocoa powder obviously adds such a great rich taste but also gives it a delicious chocolatey feel.
To add sweetness to these bites I use maple syrup, however feel free to substitute honey or agave nectar. You do need quite a lot of maple syrup to provide a good amount of sweetness. But the added sweetness is totally worth it!
I love using the rude health puffed rice as a healthy alternative to normal Rice Krispies as they are totally unprocessed and contain no added sugar, so the added maple syrup makes up for this!
Coconut oil is an additional extra in this recipe. I love adding it as it helps them to keep their shape a bit more. However, you don’t have to if you don’t have coconut oil on hand.
These healthy chocolate krispy bites are perfect if you don’t have much time to make food, but still want a delicious treat that you can use as a snack on the go. The great thing about these is that you can make it the night before, store in the fridge over night and slice in the morning ready to go.
If you make these please let me know how they turn out! I love hearing from you. Also feel free to share a photo on Instagram.
