I don’t know if you have noticed but I am in love with energy bites! I love how simple they are but also how easy they are to make and eat! These bites only have a few ingredients and take no time at all to whip up!
Although the main ingredient in these bites is peanut butter, the chocolate taste is not hidden! You can definetely taste the great combination of peanut butter and cocoa.
Like most energy bites, dates are one of the key ingredients. I love using dates as they add a great natural sweetness but also help create a sticky base for the balls. Oats in these bites also help bind everything together. I love using oats as they are a slow releaser of energy and therefore keep you full for much longer!
I also decided to add some chia seeds to these balls. This is totally optional but provide some great benefits. Chia seeds contain lots of fiber, which again will help you stay full for longer. But they also are a great source of omega- 3.
You could also add some flax seeds to these bites to add even for added benefits!
I love taking these bites in my bag and on the go. They are a great quick snack for when you are feeling hungry and are so easy to eat. You could also take these to the gym with you and eat them after to refuel you or even snack on them before to provide you with some great energy!
