This black bean chilli is the simplest thing you could possible make. With only 6 ingredients, it takes 15 minutes to whip up and is so full of flavour!

Chilli is probably one of the best things to make. This chilli is especially amazing as it only take 15 minutes to whip up, plus the rice time. Another one of the reasons why I love this chilli, along with it saving me so much time in the kitchen, is that it is so full of flavour. You don’t need any fancy ingredients to make this chilli taste good, just some chilli powder and some chilli flakes if you are feeling extra fancy.

Black beans are such a great source of magnesium, calcium and zinc. This helps maintain healthy bones and a healthy body! Black beans also help with digestion due to there fibre content. Finally, black beans are a great source of vegan protein and help to keep you full for longer. This means this chilli will keep you full until dinner or stop you having the midnight munchies!

Another great thing about this chilli is that it is completely versatile! You can add whatever veggies you want- peppers also work fantastically. You can also double the recipe to make it serve more people!

This recipe serves 2 people. However, what I like to do it make it all, eat half and freeze the rest. This means I can save some for later and always have a quick meal on hand ready to whip up. Batch cooking is one of the most convent things to do when I am busy at school and saves me so much time in the long run!

  1. Drain and rinse the black beans and add to a pan with the passata sauce (tomato puree sauce), tomato puree, garlic puree, chilli powder and flakes.
  2. Grate the carrot with the course side of the grater and add to the pan. Heat the chilli on medium heat for 10 minutes, until hot. Serve with rice of choice.
